about

Indigenous Resilience In Music's first album release! ISITSIIPOTAAKO (meaning "a song or sound that breaks the silence") is a collection of songs born from collaborations made during both of our 2019 Artist Residencies. On the A side, we have our Winter series collaborative works from Cris Derksen with Seth Cardinal of Soft Cure, and Sarah Houle of Ghostkeeper. On the B side, we have our Spring series collaborative works from Dan Auger of DRI HIEV with Ziibiwan. Enjoy this one of a kind, entirely indigenous made record that was realized, recorded, and produced in Treaty 7 territory at Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre. Album artwork by Kayla Simpson.
